In 2003, Dr. Caryl Dalton formed White Hummingbird Consulting to serve as an umbrella for Post Divorce Coaching (PDC) and other services.
Caryl created PDC after 16 years of practice with children & families. She discovered that the children who rebounded quickly after the dissolution of their families had parents who truly placed their children's needs first. She also observed that parents often misunderstood the behavior of their children and incorrectly attributed problems to the other parent's poor parenting. When problems lingered or parents fought about the issues, children often developed anxious or depressive symptoms. Caryl believes that prevention is imperative. Having worked with numerous familes where 3 or 4 parents joined together to help their child/step-child, led her to develop the strong belief that differences that lead to divorce can be put aside if the adults truly make a decision to do so. Children are always going to be the winners this way. |
